ABF The Soldiers' Charity - 10155181941716595
With registration closing at midnight on Sunday 3rd June, The Cateran Yomp 2018 is shaping up to be one of the best so far!
We're delighted to be joined by Ambassador, Les Binns. Les served for 13 years with the Light Dragoons. During this time he was deployed to Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan and was awarded many decorations, including a Queen’s Commendation for Bravery. Les’s service took its toll on him; he was involved in four separate explosions and in 2009 he was injured by an IED, causing him to lose the sight in one eye.
Les has also been awarded a silver medal by the Royal Humane Society for his life saving actions during his first attempt at climbing Mount Everest in 2016, which saw him rescue a fellow climber in distress.
Addressing participants of the Yomp, Les said, "In my time as a soldier and a civilian I have taken up many challenges both physical and mental, The Cateran Yomp is up there with the best of them!
"By taking part, you will not only gain a fantastic sense of achievement, you will be giving support to The Soldiers’ Charity that help people like me. For this I cannot thank you enough. The mud washes away, the pain and blisters subside, but the memories last forever!"
